Short Bio
Alessandro Zorat graduated in Computer Science from the University of Pisa (Italy) in 1973. He then received the M.S and Ph.D degrees in Computer Science from the University of Southern California (Los Angeles, USA) in 1975 and 1979, respectively.
In 1979 he joined the Department of Computer Science at the State University of New York at Stony Brook (USA), where he remained until 1985, when he moved back to Italy to become a full professor at the University of Trento (Italy) where he teaches computer fundamentals and applications.
His research interests comprise VLSI architectures and embedded micro-systems design. In particular, he has been working on the design of specialized computational architectures for neural computation that can be used in learning systems and have found applications in classification problems in economics and financial areas.
